Marcy Schepker’s art is building bridges between people.
She is a tapestry weaver, soft toy maker, clothing designer, and community person with 50 years of experience as a weaver and educator. Marcy loves color and texture, using recycled materials as much as possible.
She is a state juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and on the Visiting Artists Roster of the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. Marcy has represented N.H. twice at international Very Special Arts Festivals.
Marcy’s work is sold across the country in museum shops and stores, at fairs, through catalogues, and individual commissions. Her studio has been written up in the Boston Globe and Fiber Arts Magazine.
In 1995 Marcy received a year long Access Grant through the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. In 2005 she was asked to create one of the Governor’s Arts Awards.
Her studio is located in the idyllic town of Harrisville, New Hampshire with pear trees in the garden.
Over the past 30 years, together with her family, Marcy has shared her home with those in need of a home. Whether it be for a day or 15 years, people have found a welcoming place to live and work out their next step in life. Students, artists, those in need of special care, families in transition or a traveler stopping by, all were always welcome at the dinner table.
